I can’t believe I didn’t think to write about this life event until now.  I was reminded by a discussion on the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) LinkedIn group asking for folks to submit aviation photos.  As I was looking through my “Flying” photos I remembered the shots I took […]

God bless this product!  Okay, this is a post where I won’t be shy.  I’m not a light person anymore and am getting older.  What does this mean?  It means I’m just shy of 195 pounds and will soon be 49 years old.  I’m also 6’ 2”, so, I’m not fat but I do have […]

Running Hydration System

Running Hydration System

For the past year or so I’ve been a lot better about staying hydrated when I run.  I didn’t use to as I figured it wasn’t a big deal as I’d only be out running for an hour or so.  Then I started upping the mileage, doing regular 10 mile runs.  I quickly learned proper hydration will […]

Alright, I know I keep stumbling across sites that allow you to manage your training logs.  There are quite a few out there and more arriving all the time.  Today, I learned of yet another site (thanks Paul), +3 Network, that works quite well at logging your training.  The twist with this site is that your activities are converted into charitable donations.  That’s right! […]

Didn’t I say I was going to take Sunday off?  Well, I woke up and didn’t feel bad.  I actually felt quite good.  Looking out the window it appeared to be a great day to run as it was totally foggy.  Saturday night I had looked over the Trails Challenge trail list to see what trail I would make number five.  The first I looked at was […]

So, I decided after yesterday’s great run on the wonderful trails meandering through Roberts Regional Recreation Area and Redwood Regional Park that I needed to keep things going and try and knock out another of the Trail Challenge trails.  Back to the list of 20 trails and I decided […]

Well, I picked up the t-shirts for the “Trails Challenge 2009” probably around early May and as of Friday morning, October 16, I hadn’t done one trail.  Not good.  Even though we didn’t complete the challenge, last year we did this as a family and think we got in three trails, had a good time and saw some great scenery and wildlife.

The challenge is put on by the Regional Parks Foundation with the challenge being to […]

Update – April 20, 2015: It would appear that this site is no longer operated.

While still in its infancy, maybe even a toddler, the InfiniteRunners (http://www.infiniterunners.com) site by Brian Hock is well thought out and designed.  It is in Beta phase but I think he is off to a very good start and suggest you register and check it out.  What I like most is […]

Got a Run In and Found a New Training Site

Got a Run In and Found a New Training Site

Today was a run day.  I’ve actually gotten more than 20 miles in so far this week!  The last time I got that much training in was the week of May 31.  Not counting that week, or this week, I’ve only been averaging about 8 miles per week.  That’s pitiful! […]

My First Post

I hope you aren’t expecting too much in my first post.  It really is just a way to have something on this site while I continue going through a Lynda.com training program.  I want to get the most out of the WordPress environment that I can.  So far I am quite impressed and think it will be a very useful tool.  I’m not certain, as yet, how it is going to stack up to Joomla, which is a more traditional Content Management System (CMS).  For a work-in-progress example of a Joomla based web site you can check out Glass Bird Photography.

If you like what you see on my blog, you might consider setting up a blog of your own.  It is pretty easy to do basic things and there are likely free tutorials out there.  To get fancy would take additional skills but for general, personal blogging that isn’t necessary.  Stay tuned…
